During four days, 6 520 professional and amateur judges had the privileged of discovering and judging 14 850 different wines and products. On Sunday, February 28th, seven categories of olive products were being judged in the final round: olive oil from France, AOC and AOP olive oil, black olives, green AOP olives, green olives from France, olive paste, olive tapenade and other specialties. In spite of a difficult harvest in 2017, the renowned quality of olive products in France remains unchanged. Indeed, 127 medals were distributed, including 69 golden medals, 52 silver medals and 5 bronze medals.
Since its creation in 1870, the General Agricultural Competition rewards every year the best regional products and breeding animals. Organized by Comexposium since 2011, it has for mission to showcase the exceptional biodiversity and qualities of French gastronomy and genetics. “Taste Above all!" was the vision of the 2018 edition, which took place as always during the Paris International Agricultural Show.
