The photovoltaic installations in the Valflaunès and Saint Mathieu de Tréviers communes are made up of nearly 1000 panels and can generate 163.8 kWc. The annual electricity production of 213 MWh is equivalent to the average energy consumption of 70 households.

In 2005, the Château des Hospitaliers vineyard in Saint-Christol was given sustainable farming status in recognition of the environmentally-friendly methods it uses. "To apply these methods consistently right from the point when the grapes are cultivated through to when they are transformed into wine, we had to adapt the cellar to these new ways of working - as well as to the norms of both current and future legislation," explains Serge Martin-Pierrat, an independent winegrower at the domaine Château des Hospitaliers.

The "Energy panel greenhouse" project is designed to help the vegetable sector reduce its reliance on fossil fuels for growing vegetables in heated greenhouses. "We're expecting energy savings of at least 30%, as well as a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions", says the CTIFL in a press release.
